Program 

The children will be exposed to an exciting theme-based program that includes a variety of music, reading, arts and crafts, indoor/outdoor and free play activities, all designed to stimulate their physical, intellectual, social and emotional growth in a loving and comfortable environment. A majority of our day is spent in our large yard, exploring the great outdoors.
Regular outings to parks, playgroups, museums, libraries and other exciting places are all a part of what makes Care Bear’s Family Child Care a fun place to be. We have a weekly music class and every second month  we visit a senior's centre where we do a circle time with the residents. (Spontaneous  field trips do occur from time to time.) Each year, Care Bear's host a Mother's Day tea, and Family BBQ, allowing families to connect with one another.
Every month a newsletter is sent out with a schedule of the month's themes and activities. Activities such as PJ day, cooking & science experiments, hot lunches, special crafts, family events, music classes, field trips and much more!
 

Daily Schedule
7:30-9:00am Free Play - All areas are opened including dramatic play, art, books, puzzles, blocks, manipulative toys. During this time we do our program planned activities for the day such as cooking, science special art,etc.
9:00-9:30am Circle Time - Stories, songs, movement, show & tell, etc.
9:30-10:00am Snack Time
10:00am-12:00pm Outside Time - All year round with the exception of EXTREME WEATHER.
12:00-1:00pm Lunch
1:00-3:00pm Rest Time - Children over 3 who do not nap are provided with quiet time bins. Quiet time bins are full of puzzles, books including fun e-readers, coloring, and many other quiet manipulative toys such as light brite, barbies, blocks, etc. Bins are rotated daily. Fridays is our special 'movie' day and after 30-45 minutes on their beds they are invited to watch a short age-appropriate show on Netflix. 
3:00-3:30pm Snack - During Fall, Spring and Summer snack will be outside

Centre

The centre is located in the 900 sq ft ground floor suite of my home. It consists of a large indoor playroom, nap room, bathroom, and kitchen. The outside area is comprised of a large fully fenced outdoor play space that includes a sandbox, riding track, climbing tree, play house, mud kitchen, jungle gym, outdoor sink and much more.
We are conveniently located next to a children's park, with gate access through our fence.
The centre is set up like a preschool type setting, with a number of educational type centres for children to explore, including a library corner, art, sensory table, manipulative toys and dramatic play.
