About Me
|
My name is Cara Blondeau and I am the owner/operator of Care Bear's Family Child Care. I would like to welcome all potential families to my centre and tell you a little bit about my history and goals.
I began my career in Early Childhood Education in 1994 as a volunteer at Hobbit Hole Preschool and the Living Water's Family Resource Centre. In 1996 I graduated from Camosun College with an Early Childhood Certificate and then began working full time at Hobbit Hole. In 1997 I began to take courses for my diploma in Infants and Toddlers. I did this on a part time basis at Camosun College. I have completed the core courses in the Infant and Toddler program. I regularly attend workshops and conferences related to the child care field. In 2001, I opened up Care Bear's Family Child Care Centre in my home so that I could be with my own sons. (I have 2 son's now fully grown.) Currently I am the President of Southern Vancouver Child Care Association. SVICCA mandate is to promote high quality child care. As President of SVICCA , it is my goal to share my knowledge and support with providers working in this wonderful field. My goal is to provide a high quality, nurturing and safe learning environment for the children that will help them grow into wonderful, curious, and happy individuals. I maintain a structured daily program with regards to scheduled meals, rest periods, and activities because I believe children thrive best when their lives are predictable. |
